The Australian Stock Horse Society the breed for every need |
You need to be a Financial Member of the Society, keep your judging consistent across all events and maintain the Standard of Excellence for the Australian Stock Horse breed, keeping in mind that Judges ultimately maintain the standard for the breed and the tone for competitor behaviour.
In order to support and develop Australian Stock Horse Society Judges and Volunteers, the Australian Stock Horse Society Judges Accreditation Scheme was introduced in 2005. The scheme has developed over the years and now consists of 3 levels - Associate, Probationary and Accredited.
A new pathway for our young Members has been added to the Judges Scheme in 2018. Are you aged between 18 and 21 years? Would you like to gain experience to judge Australian Stock Horses, but haven’t had the chance to do any judging? Associate Judges are able to judge at Branch Shows in Led classes unaccompanied and Hack and Working classes when accompanied by an Accredited Judge. This will allow young Members to grow in experience and confidence. To become an Associate Judge, you will need to attend an Accredited Judges Workshop.
Keen to become a Judge but don’t think you have enough experience? Attend an Accredited Judges Workshop and begin on the path to becoming a Judge by graduating as a Probationary Judge. This level of judging allows you to judge alongside an Accredited Judge to gain confidence and experience at Branch Shows. The Probationary Judges List is provided to enable Probationary Judges to gain assistance from Mentor Judges, Show Committees and Branches, to obtain the necessary experience on the path to full accreditation.
Are you already an Accredited Judge looking to complete your 3-year refresher to maintain your accreditation? Attend a Refreshers Workshop. You must complete at least one Judges Refresher Workshop every 3 years to remain on the Judges List. To attend a workshop please complete a Refreshers Activity Form.
